CUTTING A PATH FOR RESEARCH FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES in CYBERLEARNING:
THINKING DIFFERENTLY
Abstract:
According to the Kaiser Family Foundation (2010) - 8-18 year-olds now spend more than 10 hours per day with electronic media. They are creating content - searching for information - playing games - engaging social media and merging formal and informal learning. This exposure to - and use of - technology is changing the way youth think and learn. As the boundaries between formal and informal collapse - the future of learning will look entirely different than it does today. Educators - researchers and funding institutions will need to stay one step ahead of these changes if we are to harness the knowledge base of learners in the 21st Century. Dr. Tettegah will discuss challenges and opportunities on the future of learning and funding.
