Stella Porto, Program Director, Applied Computer Systems, has long envisioned building a repository of multimedia objects for use in the Master of Science in Information Technology (MSIT) program. She made great strides toward realizing that goal while teaching MSIT 620, Computer Concepts.
- GSMT - Database Systems Technologies Track
The database technology field is highly sought after because the basic underpinnings of society are based on databases. Dr. Mary Hoferek explains how the Database Systems Technologies Track at UMUC has grown.
- GSMT - Biotechnology Studies Program
The Graduate School's biotechnology degree and certificates are designed with a strong emphasis on hands-on skills. The program's newly appointed program director, Rana Khan, has recently implemented a number of initiatives, including a 10-day hands-on practicum and the university's first biotechnology symposium.
- The Global Faculty Forum Initiative: Building Disciplinary Communities Worldwide
The Global Faculty Forum Initiative is an effort to expand the scope of the School of Undergraduate Studies (SUS) Faculty 999 Classrooms to encompass all three UMUC geographical divisions (Asia, Europe, and Stateside).
