This tutorial demonstrates how to place a Flash movie in a WebTycho classroom by directly embedding the movie's .swf file. You can also place a Flash movie in the classroom by creating a link to the movie file. (Note: You can not embed or link to your file in the conference area.  You must use the course content area in order for the embedding/linking to work properly).

Video (click play button)

1. Navigate to your WebTycho classroom.

2. Click the Faculty Center link in the left menu.

3. Select Manage next to Course Content.

4. Select Edit next to place holder for files.

5. Scroll down the page and click the Add Attachments button to navigate to the Flash (.swf) file on your computer. Once the .swf file has been attached, click the Submit button at the bottom of the WebTycho window.

6. From the Manage Course Content screen, click the Create Text button.

7.  In the Link Text field, enter the name of the content item.

8. Select View-->HTML View from the toolbar. (NOTE: You will need to make sure the Text Formatting Editor is turned on.)

9. Paste (Ctrl -V) in the embed code you copied from the DE Oracle article (If needed, you can copy the code below).

<embed name="presentation" src="../media/FileHolder/$FILE/filename.swf" width="720" allowfullscreen="true" quality="high" bgcolor="#ffffff" pluginspage="http://www.adobe.com/go/getflashplayer" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" align="middle" allowscriptaccess="sameDomain" height="576"></embed>

10.  Locate in the embed code you just pasted into the text box the text filename.swf and change it to whatever you named your .swf file.)  (NOTE:  It should be located on the very first line).

11. Click the Submit button to save the content item.

12. Review the new content item to make sure the Flash movie plays correctly.
