This page reviews the use of Netscape Composer version 7.x (which is included with the Netscape 7.x browser) to edit/modify any web page from the Interent (e.g., http://www.umuc.edu).

Netscape 8 does not include Composer.  You can, however, still download Netscape 7 from Netcape's archive page.)

  2. Select File --> Edit Page (This opens the file in Composer).
  3. Edit the page appropriately using the Composer Toolbar features (put in the Class name, your name, email address, hours, etc)
  4. Select File --> Save As
  5. In the dialog box, click on "New Folder" icon (yellow folder open folder iconat top right).
  6. Name the folder (such as "read_me_first" or "course_guide) be sure to use underscores instead of spaces
  7. Double-Click on the folder you have just created to open it.
  8. Click on Save. (This will save all images in your new folder).
  9. FTP the folder and all its contents to your polaris account. (See the Tech Skills/Software category, if you need instruction on setting up Polaris accounts or FTPing.)
