Installing the Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 2007 File Formats

1. Navigate to the Microsoft Office Download Center to download the Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 2007 File Formats.

You should install all High-Priority updates from Microsoft before downloading the Compatibility Pack.

2. Click the Download button.


3. Begin the software installation (choose the appropriate instruction set for the browser you are using).

Firefox


A. Click the Save File button to save the file to your hard drive.


B. Double-click on the file to open it.


C. Click the Run button to begin the installation of the Compatibility Pack.

Internet Explorer


A. Click the Run button to begin the installation of the Compatibility Pack.


B. Click the Run button in the Security Warning dialog box.


4. Click the check box to indicate that you agree with the licensing terms, then click the Continue button.


5. Click the OK button once the installation has been completed.


6. You are now ready to open Office 2007 documents using an earlier version of Office software.
