This brief tutorial demonstrates how to use the Advanced Search capabilities of Flickr to find and download photos with a Creative Commons license that you can easily use in your instructional content.
1. From your Web browser, go to Flickr.com
2. Enter your search criteria in the search box and click the button.
3. On the search results page, click the link.
4. On the Advanced Search page, select the checkbox. It is also a good idea to select the checkbox next to as this option further limits your search only to those photos that you can manipulate, should the need arise. Click on the button to begin the search.
5. On the revised search results page, click on a photo of interest.
6. On the right side of the photo's Web page, review the licensing information (you may need to scroll down to see it). You can click the rights link in this section for more details about what you can and cannot do with this photo.
7. To choose the appropriate size photo, from the top of the page, select from the drop-down menu.
8. Select from the available sizes the photo size you wish to view/download.
9. Click the link to save the photo to your computer.
10. You can place the downloaded photo into a WebTycho Course Content item, a conference, or the announcement area.
