WS_FTP LE is a Windows-based File Transfer Protocol (FTP)client that allows users to utilize the capabilities of FTP without having to know all the details of the protocol itself. In other words, it allows you to move files between your floppy disk or hard drive to your Polaris account using a windows interface.  If you currently have WS_FTP LE 5.08, this Flash video will help you learn the software.

IPSWITCH has resigned WS-FTP LE (free for education use) and have replaced it with WS_FTP Home Edition for which they charge a fee.

For those users in the UMUC Community who have relied on the "LE version of WSFTP, there are several alternatives for you.  Currently, you can download a copy of WS_FTP LE from OldVersion.com or you can use one of the follow options listed below. As with all content you download from the Internet it's important that you run a virus scan on the document before you install it.

If you prefer not to download the LE version from Oldversions.com, there are other free alternatives.
