Guide to Open Educational Resources

ILS has created a new guide to open educational resources:

Open educational resources are educational materials that are freely available online for teachers and students to use, adapt, share, and reuse.

The guide includes links to resources, provides tips on using them in instruction, and includes information on the history on the open educational resource movement.  For more information, please see the September/October 2008 DE Oracle article "Open Educational Resources."

"Cite Right" Tutorial

"Cite Right " is a new online tutorial available from ILS that introduces students to the citation process:

The tutorial provides:

  • Basic background information on why citation is necessary.
  • An introduction to the mechanics of APA, Chicago, and MLA styles, with drag-and-drop exercises that participants can use to test their skills.
