Stephen Miller to present at Council of College and Military Educators Conference

Stephen Miller, Interim Associate Provost for Information and Library Services, will present at the 2008 conference of the Council of College and Military Educators being held in mid February.  He will be part of a presentation and panel discussion entitled "Responding to Web-Era Research Needs: Emerging Library Services," which will focus on the ways in which academic libraries that serve military students are responding to challenges in providing library services and information literacy education brought about by changes in information technology.  Highlights of his presentation on UMUC's Information and Library Services will include the unique 24x7 reference service, UMUC's information literacy education initiatives including LIBS150 and UCSP611 as well as library instruction sessions within online and face-to-face UMUC classes, the library liaison program with the School of Undergraduate Studies and the Graduate School of Management and Technology, the extensive online collections provided to UMUC's students, faculty, and staff, and the library's Electronic Reserves and Document Delivery services.  The panel will also include representatives from American Military University , Empire State College, and Coastline Community College .
