Microsoft Word 2000 can save documents as HTML, but when it does it often inserts extraneous code that can cause trouble in WebTycho. We recommend that after saving your document, run it through Microsoft's filter before cutting and pasting it into a WebTycho text box.
If you do not currently have the Microsoft filer installed on your machine, you will need to download the Microsoft filter from http://office.microsoft.com/downloads/2000/Msohtmf2.aspx in order to proceed with the lesson.
1. In Microsoft Word 2000, Open the document you want to save as a web (HTML) page.
3. Once you have exported the Word document to Compact HTML, you will need to close the document.
4. Click on
5. The following dialog box should appear when you open the Microsoft Office HTML Filter 2.0. Click on the button.
The Following Dialog box will appear. Ensure that your dialog box looks like the image below then click the button. (To learn more about what the different options do, see: http://www.winplanet.com/winplanet/tutorials/3711/4/)
6. You will return to main dialog box. Click on the button.
7. Navigate to the HTML file that you saved in Step 2 and click on the button.
8. Once you have added all the HTML documents that you want to filter, click on the button.
